* LTKO 1A, 1B, 1C & LTKO 2A, 2B, 2C meet five times a week in class.
* LTKO 3 meets four times a week in class.
* Section A00/B00/C00 is for the Heritage Students.
* Section M00/N00 is for the Non-Heritage Students.

Course Requirements
1) Attendance
Attendance at every class is mandatory. Exceptions will be made only for occasions in which official documentation for the absence can be obtained (i.e. medical emergency, etc.) Official document will be required for each excused absence. Two absences are permitted without affecting the student's grade. Each subsequent absence will result point deduction from the total points. If your absences are 10 times or more, you will automatically get an F.
2) Participation
Active participation in class discussion and activities are key components of the course. The primary language used in class is Korean. Students are not permitted to speak English while in class, especially with regarding to issues unrelated to the lessons. Each tardiness (10 minutes or more) will result point deduction from the total points.
3) Homework assignments (including reading assignments by due dates)
Late homework assginments will be accepted, but points will be dedcuted for every day it is late.
4) Quizzes
Quizzes will be given as indicated by the course schedule given in class. There will be NO make-up quizzes without a reasonable absence. To take a make-up quiz, an official document according for the absence will be required. In case a student wants to take a make up quiz without an official document, he/she will get 70% of his/her total points.
5) Bi-weekly exams and Final exam
Exams cover only materials discussed in class. There will be NO make-up exams without a reasonable absence. To take a make-up exam, an official document according for the absence will be required. In case a student wants to take a make up exam without an official document, he/she will get 70% of his/her total points.
Grading Policy
Your final course grade will be determined by your performance on several components of your activities.
1) Attendance (4 pnt) and Participation (6 pnt) 10 points * 50 times = 500 points
2) Homework assignments 10 points * 25 times = 250 points
3) Presentation
Group Projects 50 points * 4 times = 100 points
Task & Function / Speaking Activities 10 points * 5 times = 50 points
4) Quizzes 30 points * 5 times = 150 points
5) Bi-weekly exams 100 points * 4 times = 400 points
6) Final exam 300 points * 1 time = 300 points
(Total 1850 points)
In order to acknowledge achievements and monitor progress, Korean language program needs a realistic and meaningful system for grading performance. In general, I award "A" grade to acknowledge achievements that go beyond specified course requirements and criteria. By its nature, this type of performance cannot always be spelled out explicitly in advance. As are reserved for special efforts that exceeds expectations by demonstrating exceptional linguistic abilities, skills, development, commitment, or creativity. In this course, B, C, and D grades are awarded for praiseworthy, above average performance, satisfactory, average performance, and minimum passing performance, respectively. Those who do not satisfy the minimum course standard will be assigned F grades.
